     My daughter was clinically diagnosed with ADD and Dyslexia. At first she did not want to continue tutoring, but it really was more a matter of insecurity than anything else. I believe more today than ever it was the exact right thing to afford her. We’ve seen a tremendous difference in her ability in schooling including spelling, reading and testing. We’re very grateful for the program and staff.

     Mrs. Brafford has been wonderful with my son. She is very compassionate, understanding, professional, and knowledgeable about dyslexia and the needs of a child living with dyslexia. Because of this, now, my son actually likes to read. He is more confident and willing to tackle what was once such a daunting task. Deciphering Dyslexia has made a world of difference in our lives.      Before I started this program with Erin I was not the best reader. I was scared to read in front of the class, or other people because I didn’t want to mess up or say something wrong.  Now I see that my reading has improved a lot, and now I am not afraid to read in front of people in my class or other people. This program has helped me a lot, not just in reading, but also sharing what I have learned in the program.

     We are playing Scrabble!  For the first time Ellison wanted to play by herself (instead of teaming with me!).  She drew her letters and threw down this word using ALL of her letters (total score: 63 points!) We are so excited for her and know that this is also largely due to your efforts!!  Thank you 😊

     Even though reading is not my favorite subject, Ms. Erin is super nice and does her best to make it fun!

     Working with Erin of Deciphering Dyslexia has been one of the best choices we have made academically for our daughter. We suspected she was dyslexic based on some of her struggles with reading and writing specifically. We went ahead and started tutoring with Erin using the Orton Gillingham method while waiting for testing results to confirm a diagnosis for our daughter.

     While she was confirmed to be dyslexic, the professionals said that without this tutoring intervention, Zoe would have been considerably more delayed in her academic endeavors.

     Erin provides us with outsource resources, guidance and reassurance as a parent who has been through this process herself.

     Our daughter looks forward to her time working with Erin even after a full day of school. She thrives in the one on one setting and especially loves the games incorporated into the learning process.

We have been warmly welcomed into her practice and look forward to continuing our tutoring sessions with Erin.

     Working with Miss Erin for the past three years has been helpful. She is kind and able to work well with middle schoolers. I am in high school now and she is patient. She is part of my daily school routine and I enjoy her. I recommend her if you need help learning how to overcome dyslexia.

     Our son Colt is dyslexic.  He is eleven, and we have spent years trying different programs to help Colt learn to read.  His Neuropsychologist recommended he start an Orton Gillingham program.  We found Erin Brafford with Deciphering Dyslexia.  Even though we are somewhat of a long distance, Erin has made this work for us, using a combination of on line tutoring and face to face.  Our son usually burns out after a semester of a new program, but we are coming up on one year and not once has Colt complained.  Our son’s education is of upmost importance to our family.  We can’t thank Erin enough for the work she does with Colt.  Erin is exactly what my son needs.

     I am much more confident in my reading and spelling.

Prior to this program, we were worried that our son, Josh, was never going to be able to read fluently. It saddened us to think he’d never be able to read to his children.

      When Josh asked us, ‘Why didn’t you do this (Deciphering Dyslexia) for me years ago? This is the way I’m going to teach my children how to read,’ we knew we made the right decision!

      Erin is patient, encouraging, kind and caring. We look forward to watching Josh’s progress as he continues through this program.

     Tutoring with Mrs. Brafford is fun; we play games and match words. It helps me to be able to read. A year ago I could hardly read a cardboard book, but now I can read chapter books.  I think that anybody can read.  She is very nice.  I’m on Level 4 and I learn a lot of rules…like the Cry-Baby, American words don’t end in “I”, etc.

     My son has been working with Ms. Erin for several years and we have witnessed miraculous growth in his reading ability. We appreciate her so much and never would have been able to get him to where he is now without her help!

     Thank you for ALL of your help. Carson has had tons of improvement! He sees the improvement and says his confidence has improved and wants to continue. He said it is one of those things that he doesn’t want to do it, but he enjoys it while he is doing it and really sees the good it is doing for him.

     Finding Erin and connecting her to my son has been an academic asset for several years. She is consistent and persistent and works well to encourage as well as challenge his abilities. We are all grateful for the opportunity to learn these retraining skills while being at home. My son has benefitted in tremendous ways due to Erin’s abilities personally and professionally. We wouldn’t want to work with anyone else.

     Using an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor for our daughter, who is profoundly Dyslexic, was essential.  Erin is thoroughly trained as a Barton tutor, which is an Orton-Gillingham based program.  My daughter has been tutoring with Erin for the past 2 1/2 years and has made great progress. Erin is knowledgeable, patient, reliable, and truly cares about my daughter and her progress.  We are so grateful to have found her to walk with us through this journey!
