Deciphering Dyslexia’s Core Values

Faith

We believe in Jesus and desire to show our families His love shining brightly, so that they would want to know more about Him.

Authenticity

We are committed to offering the most accurate and reliable solutions for students (regardless of whether we serve them in-house or refer them to a different tutor).

Relationship

We foster a culture of belonging for our students and families and our team through prayer, trust, and love for another.

Empathy

We relate to students as we share our mistakes, so they understand they are not alone.

Excellence

Families must be able to depend on us to be truthful, timely, and diligent. Always giving our best with enthusiasm while learning and growing to become better for our students and families.

Freedom

We seek to provide freedom for our students by building confidence and self-esteem and for ourselves through work/life balance.

Honesty

In a world where trust is a scarce resource, we want our students and families to find an overflowing abundance of trust and confidence within our team.

Hope

At Deciphering Dyslexia, we create an environment of hope. Hope that there is an answer for their struggles. Hope for a better life. Hope in Jesus.

Our History

I am extremely excited to have dedicated and compassionate individuals working with Deciphering Dyslexia LLC. We have the unique opportunity to help many young people, adults, and families, seeing their lives transformed with increased confidence in their reading, spelling, comprehension, and writing abilities with a renewed self-esteem!

Deciphering Dyslexia was founded in 2014, after I saw how well the Barton Reading and Spelling System worked for my son. We had struggled for years with his reading, trying program after program with no success not knowing what was wrong. Finally, through the help of friends, we figured out it was dyslexia. With all the strife we endured, I now wanted to be able to assist families with helping them to understand what dyslexia is, how to better support their children, and teach students how to read, spell, and increase their self-esteem.

Helping families by putting the pieces together through education, empowerment, and empathy.

Originally, my plan was to tutor students from home, but that quickly changed when my first two students were from Tennessee. I quickly learned how to tutor over the internet. Remote tutoring was so successful that our tutoring is now 100% over the internet. It started with just myself and two students, but has grown to encompass nine tutors with over fifty-five students, serving families all over the United States. Over the years, we have helped many students of all ages improve their reading, spelling, grammar, and writing skills.
